Kept a not-so-well-kept special secret for the past month or so, the White Stripes are proud to announce the release of their merry x-mas single featuring the song Candy Cane Children.

The White Stripes release their new single, Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground, on Monday September 2, 2002. The single features brand new versions of Suzy Lee and the bands cover version of Robert Johnsons Stop Breaking Down, which were recorded for Radio 1s Evening Session. The DVD features the band's new video for Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground, shot in London and directed by Michel Gondry, who also directed the band's groundbreaking video for their last single Fell In Love With A Girl, and an interview with the band's long time family friend and former manager/current consultant Arthur P. Dottweiler.
Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground will be available on CD , 7" and DVD. The tracklisting for the single is as follows:

NEWS FLASH: The White Stripes and the Strokes will be playing at Clutch Cargos in Pontiac on August 8th. Tickets go on sale this Friday, July 19th at 10am EST.
PlayLouder.com will be webcasting the White Stripes performance at the Glastonbury Festival in the UK on Saturday, June 29th. It will be on at 8pm BST (UK time, 5 hours ahead of EST). The PlayLouder Glastonbury minisite is at http://glastonbury.playlouder.com.
Another show has been added for the White Stripes, Stokes fiasco. It will be held at Irving Plaza in New York, Wednesday, August 14. Presale starts on ticketmaster.com on Thursday June 20 at 12 noon eastern time.

The White Stripes will play 2 select shows with New Yorks wonder children the Strokes during the month of August. One show will be in NYC (with the Strokes headlining) on August 15 and one will be in Detroit (with the Stripes headlining) on August 9. The pre-sale does not begin until Friday June 14 at 9am (and ends at 9pm that day).
For the Detroit show at Chene Park on August 9, internet presale begins at 10am on June 19 and ends June 20 at 9pm.
Jack and Meg will be on NPR morning edition (National Public Radio in the US) Friday morning June 7. Tune in.

The White Stripes and The Buff Medways will play A ONE OFF SHOW AT London at 93ft East, Brick Lane on Tuesday the 26th February. A limited amount of tickets will be made available from the Rough Trade shops in Talbot Road and Covent Gardenat 2pm on Saturday the 23rd February. Tickets are priced at a modest FIVE POUNDS.
